July – Present: Postdoctoral Researcher, Laboratory of Intelligent Systems, EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne)
- Developing robots that can learn faster by co-evolving the body and brain using reinforcement learning and evolutionary algorithms.
- Developed a classifier for continuously monitoring tactile feedback, including slip anticipation, integrated into the perception system of industrial robots for manufacturing deformable objects as part of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (MERGING).
- Ideate and supervise Master’s student projects.

- Developed a novel soft fluidic sensor with an optimised morphology to sparsify the output dimensionality while maximising the sensory information to improve the machine learning performance.
- Developed a novel proprioceptive sensor for aquatic environments that can predict the position of objects in its vicinity without touching them by using the body as a computational resource to simplify the machine learning task.
